Bad luck for Duvalidis in France

by

The indoor track and field season did not start well for Kostas Douvalidis in the 60m hurdles with what happened at the Miramas meeting in France. The Greek champion arrived at the stadium just as the judge was putting the athletes on the sidelines, as the competition program did not mention the qualifying race. Thus, the Drum ace raced without even warming up to finish in 7.94, risking injury.

Half an hour later, he finished in his second race in 7.91.

“When I arrived, an athlete I know told me that they were calling me for my turn. I realized that the start was being given and I lost them. Unfortunately, the program I had seen did not mention the qualifier and I arrived at the stadium thinking I was running later. I put nails in without heat and all I managed to do was two passes. As is normal, I ran very conservatively and with the anxiety that there is a risk of injury”, Duvalidis initially emphasized and added: how:

“Half an hour later there were two final heats, where I ran again without doing a normal warm-up. Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity for a good performance and at the same time to collect points in the rankng. I hope to compete in the Balkan Championship and then in the Panhellenic”.
