St. Gilois lost against Standard and missed the chance to get closer to the top

He lost the chance to approach the pioneer Genk n Saint Ziloise. The Brussels team was defeated at home by Standard Liège (2-4) and did not manage to take advantage of the gift of the leader, who yesterday, was left with a draw at the home of Mechelen.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 20th minute with Olympiakos loanee Zinkernagel scoring. Vertesen leveled the match two minutes later, but in the 25th minute Alsate gave their team the lead again.

In the 66th minute, Boniface made it 2-2, giving his team the signal for a turnaround. This, however, did not come true, with Balikvisa in the 85th minute making it 3-2 for the Liège team. Donum put the icing on the cake at 90+8′, sealing a great victory for his team.

In the remaining matches, Antwerp prevailed 2-0 against Eupen, while Ostend and Charleroi (0-0), as well as Sereng and Zulte Waregem (1-1) remained in the draw.
