Pantazopoulos: “Unacceptable that our 47 fans were not allowed to enter the stadium”

by

Statements after the end of the Cup final were made by its president Pigeon bwin, George Pantazopouloswho after congratulating Olympic for winning the trophy, he focused on the fact that the police did not allow 47 friends of his team who made the trip to Crete, to enter the “Two Aorakia”.

What the president of KAE Peristeri bwin said:

“Congratulations to Olympiakos for rightfully winning the title and to EEC for organizing a Final 8, which was a perennial request of basketball fans. 47 individual children arrived, our sports fans, traveling by ship and plane, to see the team for the first time in its history in a final. Although there was a ban, there were requests in the last two days that if we reach the final, some fans should enter. When we get to the final and in a half-full stadium, I believe that those 47 people had a place on the field. It is tragic not to respect what we serve, the sport. Looking for pretexts so that our fans cannot enter, does not allow us to reach the top of the sport”.

“It is unacceptable that people were traveling all night and some would leave at 8.30pm, before the match had even finished, to catch the ferry. Disrespecting the fan makes me very bitter. I take the responsibility personally. From 12:00 I was sending tax ID and AMKA so that everyone would be identified. Today I read somewhere that an U14 match in Spain had 8,500 spectators. It is very bad that 47 people cannot enter a stadium of 5,500 spectators and while they got within 100 meters of it. I am the first to agree with the regulations and procedures. But the world would not be spoiled if 47 people entered the stadium today. I hope we play again in the final. We have to respect the people who love their teams, when we ban them from watching them, the stadiums will always be empty.”
