Serelis: “There is still half a season left for Panathinaikos to react”

He is invited to show how he turned the page and to make a reaction Panathinaikosas stated by Christos Serelis on the departure of the mission for Milan in view of Thursday’s match with the Armani. The 48-year-old coach described the opportunity he got as a vindication for himself, even as an official, while he made it clear that the season is not over for his team.

In detail, Christos Serelis spoke about:

-whether the position of first coach at Panathinaikos was a dream: “A person who has been involved in basketball for so many years and is in a team like Lavrio, having reached this level from very low, is obviously a justification, both personally and for the team, for the work done all these years. The truth is that for me to be at Panathinaikos at this time something was not right, but all that is left for us is to work as best as we can for the team. The personal ones are later.”

-whether it was an “electric shock” that the players needed: “What I believe and I have already told the players is that tomorrow, because we haven’t had time to do almost anything, just one training session, to get a reaction, to show that we have turned the page and that we are looking ahead, because there are still four months, almost half a season ahead of us and we must be ready in everything”.

-the match with Armani: “We can’t talk too regularly in one training session. The good thing about Euroleague is that all the players are known, all the teams are known, more or less the players themselves know very well what they will face. From there on, the most basic part is the spiritual part for our team. How will it be presented, to change the chip, to be able to appear competitive, to be in and to claim every phase and slowly – slowly to have a much better image”.
