Despite rumors of teams willing to return, even temporarily, to action for the Super League 2, the lock remains! At the Wednesday lunchtime board amid tension and disagreements no decision was finally made to return to the pitches. The teams still they react to the subsidy being cut by taxing the bet.
The major issue that threatens the viability of most teams has even brought to the table the question of a change of management in Super League 2, as some teams feel that Leonidas Leoutsakos does not represent the interests of the clubs as he should. In fact, it was said by Antonis Rokakis of Chania that he can bring more money, even 150,000 euros for each team, provided that the current president resigns. A decision to change the presidency was not made, however, as a 3/4 vote is required by statute.
In any case, the league will remain suspended for a third week in a row and it is unknown when the teams will return to the field, but also under what conditions.
The announcement: Unanimously, the teams of Super League 2 decided to immediately restart the dialogue with a short-lived continuation of the interruption of the league, authorizing a newly created special committee that will conduct the necessary contacts with the institutional bodies – Deputy Minister of Sports and Super League 1 – in order to find the financial resources that they will enable the viability of the teams and the completion of our league.
