Potter: “I take responsibility for the negative results”

by

Another painful defeat was experienced by Chelsealosing 2-0 in the London derby against Tottenham and with rumors of his departure Potter from its technical leadership to… rekindle.

The Blues manager took full responsibility for his team’s back-to-back poor results, then spoke about Arteta and Klopp, who have also been heavily questioned.

“I know the responsibilities. We are not doing well enough for the club and so I take full responsibility for these results. The players gave it their all and they are hurting. It’s my responsibility,” the English coach initially said, while then referring to the rumors of his departure from the Chelsea bench.

“That question will continue to be asked and it’s something I accept after our negative results. It’s part of the job. At Arsenal, everyone was talking about sacking Arteta two years after he was hired. Now things have changed, but that’s how it usually goes. As in Klopp’s case, with Liverpool not getting results and suddenly everyone wants him out. This is football. Obviously, I haven’t achieved enough at Chelsea. However, my job is not to worry about rumours, I have to concentrate on how I can help the team.”
