GM Fenerbahce: “Dorsey understood that it is better to continue his career in Europe”

The details and background surrounding his transfer Tyler Dorsey in Fenerbahce, the general manager of the Turkish team, Deria Yaner, revealed.

Yanner initially referred to her desire Lantern to include the 27-year-old guard in its workforce since last summer, but despite his decision to continue on USAthey never gave up on his cause.

“Tyler Dorsey has been on our radar since last summer. He was one of the first names in our transfer planning in the summer period. Although we hadn’t spoken to him for a long time during that time, Dorsey had his sights set on going to the US and pursuing his NBA opportunity. For this reason we continued our way with a different plan. We then contacted him again mid-season, during which time Dorsey had also changed managers. Despite our intention to add him to our roster, he wanted to try his luck again in the G-League. However, all the consultations we had with the player led to a warming relationship between us and the player along the way.”he initially reported.

He then commented on the contacts with the Greek guard: “We contacted the player 3-4 days after he left the G-League. We talked to Dorsey about the details and explained our project again. We explained that we are basically working on the structure of the next period and that we are basically planning for the next 2-3 years. Of course, we hope that the player will deliver for us this season, but in reality we wanted to add Tyler to our team with future seasons in mind.

We explained all these details to the player, I think it’s good that Tyler went through the US process in the last season, because he understood that it is better for his career to continue in Europe, in a club with big goals. For this reason, our goals as a club matched the player’s, resulting in us signing a closed contract of 2.5 years.”Yanner added.
