The “red and white” led 4-2 at the beginning of the first set, but the Romanians quickly made it 7-4. As if that wasn’t enough, they even increased the gap to +5 (6-11). Lorenzo Micelli’s players stepped on the gas and made it 15-14, but were unable to hold on to their lead, with Targoviste taking the set with 26-24.

Things were very different in the second set. The Romanians took a significant lead from very early on, making it 6-1, while they also reached the 10-3. The Piraeus team could not keep up with their pace, with the visitors comfortably winning the second set, with a score of 25-13.

Miceli’s team was determined to take the third set and took a 5-1 lead, which quickly became 5-4. The “red and whites”, however, did not want to give up in any case, and in the end they took the set with 25-19, playing with the necessary composure and determination.

And where it seemed that he was starting the counterattack, in the fourth he “collapsed” and experienced defeat and elimination. The Romanians made it 9-3 and after managing their lead perfectly, they went on to win the set and win, with 25-16.
