On Friday 10/3, the Greek delegation leaves for Leiria, Portugal, which is going to participate in the European Throwing Cup on the weekend (11-12/3). In the first major event of open athletics for 2023, our country will appear with two significant losses, both in the hammer throw, as Christos Franzeskakis and Michalis Anastasakis are undergoing a period of rehabilitation from health and injury problems and will not be present.
On the contrary, Elina Jengo will normally participate, who as the current European champion is one of the “stars” of the event, which is why she has been invited to the official press conference, which will take place on Friday afternoon. The javelin champion started her year with a throw of 61.05m. in Heraklion, in the winter hurling cup, and will aim for something even better in Leiria.
