Marchoukos: “SL2 will win both what it claims and what it really deserves”

It was a great honor to claim, but now a greater responsibility to lead from the position of chairman in Super League 2.

I would like, first of all, to thank from the bottom of my heart all the representatives of the groups with the right to vote, whose attitude and behavior contributed to a calm and civilized election climate. And those who honored me with their vote, but also those who had a different choice.

I also thank Mr. Antonis Rokakis, with whom we were “opponents” exclusively in the electoral process.

All of us are gunpowder in the sport we have loved, bonded and hurt. The football. Especially in this football for which we have bled financially to support it in the last period, both of the economic crisis and of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is one way, then, dear partners, to make a new beginning. And I call you partners, because you have my word and my absolute commitment, that rivalry will only exist in the league, on the playing fields and only for 90 minutes.

We must not return to the ways of the past. There is no room for quarrels, confrontations, quarrels between us. We have common goals, claims and visions. Therefore, in order to claim what we deserve, we need UNITY, ENGAGEMENT and SAMENESS.

We have an amazing commercial product in the vestibule of the first class professional division, the Super League. For this particular product, we must show unity to the world that is thirsty for football, to the sponsors who are waiting for us, to the favored State with which we have nothing to part with and we believe that it will be helpful in finding immediate and fair solutions.

We consider and believe that the first person in charge of Sports in our country will show equanimity, good will and will help us, so that we can escape from the quagmire.

Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis has proven that he wants, can and will intervene in our ongoing problems, as he has done creatively and decisively in the past in similar situations.

We need the reboot. We demand the acquired. We start with solid foundations of cooperation, like-mindedness, solidarity.

Know that what UNITES us is infinitely more than what DIVIDES us. And so, it is with this reasoning and mentality that we must proceed.

I would like to thank the previous administration and especially all of you who have spent hours discussing and agreeing on the solutions that will get us out of the quagmire and impasses.

We must be UNITED and SOLID to start hard work from YESTERDAY. And rest assured that SUPER LEAGUE 2 will win EVERYTHING IT CLAIMS AND REALLY DESERVES.

I think that all of us have responsibilities and obligations, so that the football product that was removed from the sports fan world can return to its natural place with dynamics, spectacle and Fair Play from everyone.
