Bournemouth: The third team to overturn a 9-0 defeat by winning in the second round

Scoring breather for bottom Bournemouth who prevailed 1-0 in their “Vitality” Liverpool for its 27th matchday Premier League.

However, the “cherries” managed to achieve something special since with their particular victory they “recovered” the heavy 9-0 defeat in the first round by Klopp’s team and became the third team to win in the second round after such a defeat!

THE first time the last time this happened was during the season 1994-95. Then the “victim” was Ipswich which crashed with the 9-0 at “Old Trafford” from Manchester Unitedbut managed to get her blood back in the second round by prevailing 3-2 on Portman Road.

For the second case we move to the season 2019/20. There she Southampton experienced the heaviest home defeat in its history against Leicester, who “danced” in the rain to prevail 9-0. However, the “Saints” had an answer as in his match “King Power” they got away with it 2-1 getting an important victory which was a “counter-attack” for their stay in the division.

Southampton 19-20: 9-0 at home v Leicester, won 2-1 away
