The Glyfada Maritime Pro–Am is the first pro-am golf tournament for the shipping community that takes place in Greece and specifically in Glyfada Golf, the Saturday, April 1, 2023 combining the participation of professional and amateur golfers.
The first naval tournament pro–a.m is expected to gather the interest of Greek and global shipping as well more than 70 senior executives will participate. Participants will compete, at team level, in a fight shotgun scramble, having the opportunity to play golf on a course course, 18 holes, par 72.
In the pro-am tournament, the teams, consisting of four members, include in their composition both professional and amateur athletes. In the Glyfada Maritime Pro-Am format each team consists of a professional golfer and three amateur athletes from the shipping area. The benefits of a pro-am tournament are multiple as it offers an opportunity for amateur athletes to compete and learn alongside a professional, reduces the pressure a player can have as everyone competes with their own handicap, develops teamwork, offers rich gifts to the participants and above all it gives them the opportunity to compete on a top golf course.
The Golf Glyfada “K. Karamanlis” of Municipality of Glyfada, it is a place for sports, recreation, culture, with an excellent view. The international standard golf course is a green area, shaped in a landscape with low hills, with large trees and low Mediterranean vegetation. At the same time, it is a place for daily participation in Greek and international events and competitions, while it contributes to the creation of golf consciousness and values. The organization of the Glyfada Maritime Pro-Am will contribute to development of golf’s relations with shipping and to promotion of sports tourism of the Municipality of Glyfada and the wider area.
His teams Glyfada Maritime Pro–Am they will claim the great distinctions for the conquest of first three places in the general ranking, while there will be special awards for the players who will score the best performances in the special categories Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin.
At the same time, non-tournament participants will have the opportunity to watch golf lessons.
The event will end with award ceremony which will take place in the outdoor area of the all day high aesthetic restaurant Colonial in the Golf Privé of Glyfada, of Papatheochari Group, with unlimited and beautiful views of the golf course.
