Papanikolaou: “We don’t look at intersections, we can look into everyone’s eyes”

THE Olympic destroyed PAOK with a score of 100-70, making it 20/20 in the Basket League.

After the match, the captain of Olympiakos, Kostas Papanikolaouspoke to the ERT camera both about the appearance of Piraeus against PAOK, as well as about the defeat by Partizan and the continuation of Euroleague.

In detail what he said:

“PAOK is a well-worked team and has shown it in their last games. We wanted to play a good game after losing to Partizan. We played a good game, the time was also shared to be fresh for the rest”.

For the defeat by Partizan: “The way Partizan played changed our game. In the pick and roll he played with 2 people he didn’t play with cuts. And we didn’t play well to create the situations we wanted. They played better than us. We missed a lot of layups. I hope we don’t have so many missed shots again. Every game is different and you have to work hard in every game. There will be games that don’t go your way and those nights will come. But you leave them behind and focus on tomorrow.

We all know where we are. The most children were here. We know where we are stepping and what awaits us. It was a bad bracket that the opponent put out more energy to win the game. Partizan wanted it more than us and this was a lesson for the future. Olympiacos has never entered into this process of crossing.

We enter every game with the aim of winning and in the end to be measured against the one we have in front of us. When we are good we can look everyone in the eye. In France we lost in the last shot but Wednesday’s match is a new game and we will focus on that.”

On the absence of Bartzokas in the last two games: “Everyone is necessary in a team. We wanted to use the coach’s absence as motivation to be even more focused and it was one of the things that bothered us that we didn’t play well with the coach’s absence.”
