The national Peru is in Madrid for tonight’s friendly against Morocco at the Wanda Metropolitano, but the run-up to the match has been very uneventful for the Latin Americans.
The team’s delegation returned to the hotel they have stayed in and there they met a crowd of Peruvians who wanted to idolize the players by asking for autographs and photos. The beautiful setting, however, was quickly spoiled when a policeman violently pushed away Peru international Yoshimar Jotun, mistaking him for a fan. The football player reacted by pushing him as well, causing a fight to begin general conflict between the police and the footballers!
In fact, the authorities brought in the goalkeeper of Peru, Pedro Gales, who, however, after giving a statement at the police station, was released without being charged. The intervention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru was decisive in order to prevent the ugly incident from happening.
