Terzis: “Let’s control the pace against Olympiakos – Our goal is the European ticket”

by

About the away match against Olympiakos (2/4, 21:00) in the context of the 2nd matchday of the playoffs in the Stoiximan Super League, Aris’ coach spoke, Tolis Terzis.

He initially referred to his team’s preparation for the game in “Karaiskakis”, he emphasized that his players should control the pace of the match and take advantage of the opportunities that will be given to them, while he added once again that Aris’ goal is to 5th place and securing a European ticket.

What Aris’ coach said in detail:

“We had a lot of guys missing a lot of days with their national teams. They came back in the last two days and did a couple of training sessions. We are waiting for Kamaras today and he will train only tomorrow. All of this is a problem. I was also absent the first week of the break, as I was in Athens for the UEFA Pro. The good thing is that no international returned with an injury. From now on we will see how we manage the upcoming game with Olympiakos. Fortunately, there are no absences from our international players”.

For the game against Olympiakos:“Obviously it’s a tough game. We know that when Olympiacos finds a rhythm at home, it makes life very difficult for the opponent. So, we will try to control the pace and score on the opportunities that will be given to us. It is not only the game with Olympiakos that is difficult. All the games against the other contenders for the title are also difficult. So, from the facts we expect that the game against Olympiakos will be difficult. We have to try to control the tempo and score in the phases that we will find”.

For his team’s goals: “For us, the goal remains the same, as we have said for some time. The fifth place, which gives a European ticket. That goal is left for us this season. Based on this goal, then, we fight all the games. There is definitely a motivation, because we are trying for European participation. In addition, some of the players, who are out of contract, may want to show something better now at the end of the season, to renew or go to other teams. There are many, however, who have a contract with the team and next season they will want to be in the European games”.

For using Ciabani: “What I can say for sure is that we have two goalkeepers, who are very good. They work very hard with their coach. There had been a discussion before the match against Lamia, in the presence of both goalkeepers and their coach. I told them that Cuesta had won all the games of the league so far. For his part, Marios (s.s. Siabanis) is working very well in training and will play in the next games. We will split the entries between the two of us. When we had the conversation, there were twelve games left, two before the end of the regular season and ten more before the playoffs. I told them to be ready at all times, because they will both get innings, divided. It is in the context of incentives, as we were saying”.
