Rotten: “I don’t want Messi and Neymar in Paris, they didn’t manage to do anything in the Champions League”

Again he wanted to draw the spotlight on himself Jerome Rotten, who again referred to Lionel Messi, but also to neymar, asking -indirectly- for their departure from the Paris Saint Germain.

The former midfielder of the Parisians, strongly disagreed with her Contract renewal that happened to the Brazilian star, while he emphasized that in case he remains at the club, his status should be downgraded and he should not be considered so important.

“He is at the end of his contract, so it is very easy for Paris to part with Messi next summer. The situation is a bit more problematic with Neymar. We know the importance that his contract can have in the club. The team is held hostage by this contract extension that Leonardo gave him. Will he be able to accept a reassignment to different leadership in the locker room?

In any case, if Neymar stays, he will have to be demoted from the team’s top players. It is difficult with the status it has. We agree. In those cases, if it’s too difficult, we have to find an agreement to let him look elsewhere. Because for me it makes sense to distinguish him from Messi. But the logic would also be to separate from certain executives who have been there for four, five, six, ten years. Maybe that’s where you should make an impression and change the facts for him.” he initially stated.

As for the presence of the two footballers at the club, he added: “We expected players like Messi and Neymar to be there for the big matches. We wanted Paris Saint-Germain to step up, especially in the Champions League. And in this, we saw that both failed. They never went above and beyond, so I blame him for that. But despite all that, I’m not going to change the way I see football.”
