An unprecedented meeting with invited top coaches and veteran footballers has been approved and is expected to be held by UEFA.
As the Spanish reports “Marca”the European football confederation has set up a council of… sports wise men approved by its Executive Committee UEFA on April 4 in Lisbon and is expected to be the first time such a high-level advisory body has been created.
The… premiere of the football council is expected to take place in Neon on 24 April and will be an annual event in the UEFA calendar, with the aim of giving football an independent voice from different points of view and will be used to protect the sport and exchange ideas. The discussions will also cover refereeing rules, UEFA dates and the development of the elite youth competition.
The former Milan player, Zvonimir Boban will meet and chair the meeting together with the UEFA Referees Officer, Roberto Rossetti, while top ex-players and current coaches with football experience and know-how will attend. Among them, the names of Mourinho dominate, Zidane and Ancelotti and apart from them the confirmed members will be: Paolo Maldini, Fabio Capello, Zanetti, Luis Figo, Philipp Lahm, Ronaldo Koeman, Gareth Southgate, Rio Ferdinand, Rafa Benitez, Roberto Martinez, Petr Cech, Juan Mata, Michael Laudrup, Pendrag Mijatovic, Jurgen Klinsmann, Rudy Feller, Robbie Keane.
