In the cradle of world Olympism, Ancient Olympia, the end of the PPC Cycling Tour

From the area of ​​Costa Navarino, located north of Pylos, the 120 cyclists will start the 4th and last stage (133.5 km) of the PPC Cycling Tour of Greece to finish in the birthplace of the world Olympiad, Ancient Olympia.

Trifylias Tower will host the 1st climb sprint, 14.8 km after the start of the race. Next is the town of Gargaliana which has been inhabited since 3000 BC. and in ancient times it belonged to the King of Ancient Pylos, Nestor. From there, the peloton will return to the shores of the Ionian, to pass through Marathopolis, where the 1st intermediate sprint straight will be held, at 32.2 km.

Continuing the route to the north and along the Kyparissia gulf, cyclists will reach Zacharo and the 2nd intermediate sprint straight (km 85.4). Endless sandy beaches characterize the area, which is famous for Lake Caiaphas and its thermal baths.

The peloton will move inland, to meet in Samikos the 2nd climb sprint at 99 km of the route. Immediately after, it will cross the Alpheios river, pass by the south-eastern outskirts of Pyrgos and there it will change direction, towards the east, to finish in Ancient Olympia, one of the most important archaeological sites not only in Greece, but in the entire world.

In the place where the flame of the Olympic games was touched, in the cradle of World Olympism, the PPC International Cycling Tour of 2023 will be completed, conveying unique images through the television broadcast all over the world.
