Yiannis Samaras left Apollon Smyrnis

by

His departure Yannis Samaras from the position of sports director, after five months of cooperation, announced Apollo of Smyrna.

With its announcement, the “light brigade” disclosed the fact, emphasizing, among other things, that its departure of the Monemvasiotis family from the club, had as a consequence that of Yiannis Samaras and his associates, as the administration failed to secure him the working conditions he wanted.

The announcement in detail:

“The decision of the final withdrawal of the Monemvasiotis family from the administration of Apollon Smyrni, causes developments in a series of issues concerning the team.

Unfortunately, a direct consequence of the upcoming changes in PAE is the departure of Yiannis Samaras and his associates. Yannis Samaras came to our team following the personal actions of the owner of PAE, who has unlimited respect for him. He was assigned the position of sports director, as he is a man who could help Apollon to change the level. It came at a difficult time for PAE and while the planning had already been done by other people from the previous summer.

The management failed to provide him with the working conditions he wanted. This was not possible as the field problem that afflicted PAE was not overcome and the appropriate solution was not found with Erasitpechnis.

Also, it became impossible to solve the problem concerning the training center, as well as the field for the PAE Infrastructure departments. All this resulted in the team not being able to operate at the professional level required to ensure, firstly, promotion to the Super League and then stabilization in it.

All these, permanently unsolved, problems of Apollo, but also of the teams of Super League 2 in general, put an inglorious end to the cooperation with Mr. Samaras and the opportunity for Apollo to raise the level in the organizational and competitive field, thanks to the knowledge of Mr. Samaras.

A sad development for us, but there is, at this stage, no solution to the above problems.

We thank Mr. Samaras and his colleagues for the efforts they made to help our team, we wish them the best of luck in whatever they choose to do in their illustrious careers and we hope that our paths will meet again in the future. We thank them all.”
