Panathinaikos, the boss of the derby, cleaned up Olympiacos and sent… a title message!

Big winner of this year’s third “eternal” derby o Panathinaikoswho won by a score 2-0 him Olympic at “Apostolos Nikolaidis”, as part of the 4th round of the Stoiximan Super League playoffs.

In the… minds of the coaches:

Ivan Jovanovic “brought down” Panathinaikos with a formation 4-3-3. Brignoli sat in goal, with Sanchez, Senkefeld, Sarlia and Juancar four at the back. Ruben, Tserin and Kourbelis formed the three midfielders on the axis, with Palasios, Sporar and Bernard making up the attacking triplet.

Jose Anigo on the other hand, he lined up Olympiakos with a system 4-2-3-1. Putting Paschalakis under the goalposts and Rodinei, Papastathopoulos, Ba, Reabtsiuk on the line in defense. Embila and Huang were the two “cutters”, with Masoura, Hames and Fortouni moving behind El Arabi who struggled in the attack.

Olympiacos started with a highly aggressive 11, however he could not become threateningeven having difficulties in dealing with the balls that were made at the “back” of the defense of him, being quite vulnerable.

A Sarlia’s injury forced Ivan Jovanovic to unexpectedly “spend” a change, putting on Magnuson in the 15th minute and in the next minute Tserin crossed from the right, Palasios made a spinning header but sent the ball centimeters outside the right post of Paschalakis’ goal !

Having the momentum in their favor, Panathinaikos wanted to take advantage of it to go for a second goal which would put him in a position of boss in the derby. As time passed, the scene remained the same, without any particularly noteworthy phase, as a result of which Panathinaikos reached unexpectedly easily, one might say, the 2-0 victory against Olympiakos and the +6 against them.

MVP: In another game, second consecutive after Aris, Andraz Sporar… does the job and proves to be decisive for the victory of Panathinaikos. The Slovenian striker missed a chance to score, “reffering” to make it 1-0 while reaching the ten league goals while from his own shot came the corner that brought the 2-0! He troubled Papastathopoulos and the rest of the Olympiakos defense a lot, until a change came out.

The… whistle: The Spanish Carlos Del Thero Grande showed how a referee should play in a derby. Calm despite the tense atmosphere of such a match, he was in complete control, whistling when he had to.
