PAS Ioannina: “No tolerance, exemplary punishment of the guilty”

For three days now we have been trying to learn, to see, to digest what has happened.

Let’s find the WHY..

We find it unthinkable and unacceptable that they should be the recipients of murderous attacks and treated as inferior human beings because of the group they support. The brazen attack on four friends of P.A.S. Ioannina last Friday can only be described as reprehensible and unacceptable.

In Ioannina we have learned to be open to everyone regardless of color, religion, fan identity, and for this reason we consider such an act against the most precious good that can be given to a person, life, as unprecedented.

The sporting and social dimension represented by P.A.S. Ioannina not only for the city of Ioannina but also for all of Epirus is governed by ethics and love not only for football and sports, but love for life itself. That is why we demand that the institutions show no tolerance for any act of violence and of course the self-evident and exemplary punishment of the guilty.

Our society and city cannot tolerate any more such acts, when recently we had the untimely death of Alkis Kampanos. Our thoughts at the moment are with the children who are fighting the hardest battle, hoping that they will overcome it and be back where they belong on the Zosimados stands…
