McKissick: “Olympiacos is my home, I couldn’t imagine playing anywhere else anymore”

by

A resident of Piraeus will remain until the summer of 2025 o Shaquille McKissick, with the KAE Olympiacos to announce on Tuesday afternoon expansion of cooperation of both sides for two more years!

In his first statements after the new contract, the American guard could not hide his joy and satisfaction for this development, stressing among other things that Olympiacos is his home, while he made it clear that he could not imagine himself to is struggling to some other group!

Shaquille McKissic’s statements in detail:

Regarding the renewal of his cooperation with Olympiakos: “I feel very good. First of all I want to thank the Presidents, Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos, for the trust and opportunity they give me. I thank the coach, his partners and the fans of our team! Thank you to the entire Olympiakos organization! It’s a great environment for me and my family! Thanks also to my teammates! I love playing with them! I look forward to the years to come!”

On his goals, not only for this season, but for the years to come: “Right now I can’t talk about goals and expectations. What matters is that we play hard in every match. Of course we want to win titles. We want to win the Euroleague, Championships, Cups… That’s everyone’s goal. But the most important thing is to be competitive so we can make our fans proud.”

On whether, when he signed in February 2020, he believed he would be able to stay so many years with the team: “I dreamed about it, but I didn’t believe it would come true! You see so many players going from one Euroleague team to another. For me to be in a team that I can really call home is a very important achievement. First of all for me, because I do the right thing, I work hard, I believe in the team and the philosophy of the coaches and I guess that’s how you live long.”

For what “detained” him in the Port: “The weather! I’m kidding, although it’s true that I love living in Greece. I really couldn’t imagine playing anywhere else anymore if I didn’t have to. When you talk to other players, everyone says that the ideal is to live in Greece. Of course it has to do with the amazing organization of Olympiakos. I have ’embraced’ the culture of the country, I love the fans of Olympiakos and they love me too. So does my family. So that’s the most important thing. What more could I ask for?”
