Baltakos: “I didn’t expect that they would throw a skirt at me, but the way football has fallen…”

Beyond that, however, the EPO president also spoke about a number of other issues. He was specifically asked about the incident with the skirt, which was thrown at him by Kostas Karapapas at the recent meeting of the “six” at the federation’s offices, saying that he never expected something like this to happen, but nothing surprises him anymore, given that “Greek football has fallen into toxicity for years now».

For reacting coolly, he said: “I could not do otherwise. I do not represent myself. My institutional role it doesn’t allow me not to react coolly. I then said that I will follow my own pace, which will be a pace of composure. And that’s what others will be forced to do. They cannot do otherwise».

Regarding the attacks, moreover, that he receives, and for the fact that he is being asked to resign, he replied: “Why should I resign and not those who attack me? I don’t see any reason! In the first place I don’t care at all what they say, they go in one ear and out the other. But, I ask again, why should I resign and not those who pass non-institutional measures”.
