Serelis: “We lost because we made bad decisions at the end”

by

Panathinaikos fought it but was finally defeated in Belgrade and the “Stark Arena” by Partizan, with the coach of the “greens”, Christos Serelisstanding by the wrong choices of his players, stressing that Obradovic’s team can reach the Final 4.

In detail what the coach of Panathinaikos said:

“I want to tell you that for my team it was a very bad season. We wanted to finish with a good game against a really good team, with the best coach in Europe. Partizan is a team that really wanted the game and deserved to be in the quarterfinals. I think we controlled the tempo of the match and had good decisions in attack. We read the opposing defense well, that’s why until the end we were close and we were close to winning. With all due respect to Partizan, I think we lost because we had bad decisions at the end, on the last two possessions. Such is life, we carry on”.

On what he did to Panathinaikos this year: “It is difficult to answer because I have been in the team for almost 40 days. I don’t know what happened in the past. We had problems with our chemistry, I think the team lost some close games back in October and November, which resulted in a loss of confidence. I don’t want to talk about the past though, but about the present and the future. We are working, not the way I want, but we will prepare the team for the best possible end to the season.”.

What plans are there for the summer: “I can’t answer that because it’s not about the tactical part”.

On his team’s shooting percentages dropping in the second half: “Partizan is a very tough team, playing with intensity in defense. Gradually, we started getting tired already. In general, I have no complaints from my players. I think we passed the ball well and found free shots, but in the end we had two bad decisions that led us to the defeat”.
