Korasidon: Guzini is at the helm

THE Basilia Guzini will assume its technical leadership Girls’ National Teamwhich will take part in the U16 European Championship this summer.

Guzini has a degree in Physical Education and Sports and she has competed 65 times in the Women’s National Team. She was born in Lamia where she took her first basketball steps with Anagennisi, before continuing with Pagrati, AEK Tripoli, DAS Ano Liosion, MAS Kastoria and Athenaikos. He has won four Greek championships (3 with DASAL, 1 with Athinaikos) and a Greek Cup with Athinaikos in 2001, when he was named MVP of the final.

Her term on the benches had started much earlier, when in 1995 she took over as a coach for girls and mini teams at AO Ardittos. He continued with AEK Tripoli, where he had taken part with the Girls’ team in the final phase of the Panhellenic Championship and was followed by AO Vrilission (women’s, girls’, mini), AO Pentelis (Men’s team, Promotion to A’ ESKA and Adolescent), Panionios , FEA, Paneleussinaikos (as an assistant coach and gymnast with whom she rose to A1 in 2012 and presence in the 2012-14 Basket League), Athenaikos, Panathinaikos, SKD Nea Ionia, Agia Paraskevi, Eunikos , Dafni, while from 2020 until today he is an assistant coach at Maroussi, which competes in the Errikos Dunan Elite League.

The Girls’ National Team will compete in Group D of the European Championship, which will be held August 11-19 in Izmir. In Group D, they will face Belgium (11/8), Spain (12/8) and Slovenia (13/8) respectively.
