PAOK started the A1 women’s handball finals with a break, winning 19-18 against OFNI in Nea Ionia.

After an exciting match, the “double head of the north” took the first step towards the title, having Burato as the top scorer with five goals. The first scorer of the match was OFNI’s Kmirova with seven.

PAOK took an early lead and maintained a 1-2 goal difference for most of the match. After great saves by Kepesidou, OFNI managed to equalize at 17-17 in the 52nd minute. Dias gave PAOK the lead again in the 58th minute, with Kmirova leveling again at 18-18 at 59:22. It was Dias who had the final say, making it 19-18 with eight seconds left.

The second final will be played on Wednesday 26 April at 17:00 and the title will be decided on the three wins.

It is worth noting that the match started with a delay of three minutes, because in the forecourt of the closed one, specifically behind the goal, on the door next to it, a firecracker fell and the linesman felt dizzy.
