Attempted bribery of the Greek referees Sugar and Kardari before the fight with her Trepsa for the semi-final phase of the playoffs in the Kosovo league, the team complained through its post on Social Media Pristina!
The Kosovo team says its allegations are confirmed by video, adding that the evidence it has has already been handed over to the Police and calls for exemplary punishment for all those involved.
In addition, in its announcement, Pristina emphasizes that the Greek referees accepted the fact and that is why they never blew the whistle in the match, while FIBA and EEC have already been informed, which are expected to conduct an investigation into the incident.
In detail what the Pristina team mentions in its post:
“Dear citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,
Dear basketball fans,
Thanks to the information of the honest people of our city, as well as thanks to the intelligence of the people dedicated to our club, after some doubts we inform you that on April 20, the exact day of the third semi-final between Pristina and Treptsa, we discovered the biggest scandal in basketball of Kosovo from the beginning of its existence and we prevented the biggest moral and sporting damage to our club.
Confirmed by information and video recordings, we have discovered and reported for a criminal act a person, who was seen putting the two referees of the game, Zaharis and Kardaris in a Mercedes car and offering them bribes for the Pristina vs Treptsa match, for the sake of the guests.
After confirming the case we informed the leadership of the Federation, who spoke to the referees and they accepted the fact. This is why the referees did not blow the whistle. We reported the incident to the Kosovo Police prior to the start of the game and expect prosecutions against those involved as soon as possible.
We are dedicated to achieving results only through sporting means and not by any other means. We have both professional and moral responsibility to everyone and especially to the honest spectators and innocent children who come to see a beautiful sporting event and to support the heart team so that it can win in an honest way.
For the future, we call on the competent authorities of the law to mobilize to save sports and basketball, punish all those involved and permanently ban sports events where they want to corrupt justice.
In the meantime, we will appeal to the biggest basketball body, FIBA, Secretary Zaglis and the Hellenic Basketball Federation, each of them to take measures to punish and prevent the worst phenomena of the sport.
