“Extinguished” the hopes of AEK Larnaca for a title and Apollon Limassol stayed alive for Europe!

Apollo is here! The team from Limassol beat AEK Larnaca 1-0, reduced its gap from 3rd place to five points and got closer to Paphos four corners before the end of the playoffs.

At 56 points Apollos, while AEK remained at 61 and lost the opportunity to catch Aris at the top.

The first chance of the match came in the 11th minute with Pitta making the shot and Piric blocking, while in the 17th minute the same player missed from an advantageous position. In the 34th minute, AEK Larnaca scored with Garthia’s close header and the ball went wide. The visitors took the lead in the 15th minute with Kontinella’s header, but the home side equalized five minutes later with a goal from Charalambous, following a superb partnership between Durmisai and Pehlivanis.

In fact, the Cypriot striker found the net again two minutes later, but his goal was disallowed as at the beginning of the phase, Nani was fouled by an illegal marking on Mendojevic with 1-1 remaining until the end.
