Defeats the Netherlands and the National handball team qualifies for EURO 2024

All of Greek handball is anxiously awaiting the final match of the men’s national handball team in the Netherlands, so that with a victory the representative group will qualify for the finals of EURO 2024 for the first time in its history.

The national team claims the second place in the group and the direct qualification, but keeps intact the hopes of qualification to the final phase of EURO 2024 even with the third place of the group. A combination of results in the other groups can keep Greece in the four privileged positions leading to the EURO.

“Real test – We don’t think of scenarios”

Giorgos Zaravinas stated at the OHE press office that: “For us, it is a real test of the team’s potential, as our group is perhaps the only one in which the first teams have a ranking interest in the last matchday, as well as the first three positions are still open.

The really strong teams emerge in such games and in such venues. We don’t think about scenarios and results in other groups, it’s a challenge match for us and that’s why we’ll face it as best we can mentally and emotionally.”
