A top-level referee, Felix Brich, is said – according to a German publication – to have been appointed to direct the Olympiacos-Panathinaikos derby, which will take place on Sunday in the empty space due to the suspension of “G. Karaiskakis”.
The 47-year-old referee has whistled in many great matches in his career, such as the Champions League final between Real and Juventus in 2017, the Europa League final between Sevilla and Benfica in 2014, and the semi-final of the last Euro between Spain and Italy.
Brich had managed Super League games three other times: Olympiacos-PAOK 3-0 on 27/01/2021, Aris-PAOK 0-0 on 20/2/2022 and PAOK-Aris 0-1 on 11/5/2022 .
He had “whistled” Olympiakos on 17/9/2013 in the 1-4 by Paris in Faliro for the Champions League and in the 0-2 by Porto in the same stadium and the same event on 19/12/2020.
Brich met Panathinaikos, respectively, on 2/21/2008 for the 1-1 draw with Rangers in the Europa League and on 8/19/2009 in the 2-3 draw against Atlético in the Champions League qualifiers, both matches in Athena.
