In an attempt to return to winning the championship from the new season, Panathinaikos proceeded to acquire the American guard Jasmine Jones for one year, of an athlete who until this year was competing in WNBA!

“Panathinaikos A.O. announces the start of its partnership with Jazmine Jones for the 2023-24 women’s basketball season.
The Club made a great signing with the addition of American Jazmine Jones, who undoubtedly adds even more quality to the roster with her experience in both the WNBA and European courts.
The 27-year-old Jones (1.83m) plays on the perimeter and last season had very positive statistics with Israel’s Ramat Hasharon (2022-23) averaging 19.3 points (41% three-pointers), 6.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
She was the number 12 pick in the 2020 WNBA draft when she was selected by the New York Liberty, where she averaged 10.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 20 games. She then made a move from France’s Tarbes Gespe Bigorre (2020-21) and returned to the WNBA again for the New York Liberty.
The following season (2021-22) she went to Turkey where she played for Antalya 07 Basketbol and Hatay Bsb with very positive percentages (19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds), before returning to the WNBA (2022) for the Connecticut Sun.
In statement of pao1908.com said: “I am happy to come to Greece on behalf of Panathinaikos. It is a new challenge for me and I want to help the team achieve all the goals it has set in the competitions it participates in. Also, I’ve heard that Panathinaikos fans create a terrible atmosphere and I definitely want to experience it.”
