IFFHS: Jump of 69 places for AEK, first Olympiacos

by

The consistently first Greek team is Olympic in the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) world club rankings. Piraeus gained 13 places and from No. 115 in April they are now 102nd with 119.5 points.

Five Greek teams are included in the ranking and of these only Aris did not show an increase. Behind Olympiakos is again Panathinaikoswhich rose from 139th to 134th place (100.25 points).

But the big leap was made by AEKwhich not only overtook PAOK but rose 69 places (!), from 204th to 135th place in the ranking (100 points)

PAOK also climbed from 182nd to 161st place with 91.75 points, but is now the fourth Greek team in a row, while Aris fell from 250th to 253rd place with 72 points.

There were many changes in the top ten, as well as at the top of the standings, where Real Madrid (320 points)… displaced Flamengo (295 points), while Manchester City (254) remained the burden.

In the “top-101” there are 63 teams from UEFA, 26 from CONMEBOL, eight from CAF, two from CONCACAF and one from AFC, while there are 33 different countries (UEFA 20, CONMEBOL 6, CAF 4, AFC 2 , CONCACAF 1). Brazil has 12 clubs, England, Germany, Spain and Italy have 7.
