A source close to the Republican People’s Party (CHP) said the 74-year-old opposition leader had donned bulletproof vests and his security had been beefed up as there were reports he could be targeted.

This source did not provide further details.

Kilicdaroglu, who is leading by a narrow margin in the polls, made this speech in Samsouda on the Black Sea.

In an interview he gave today to the Reuters agency, he said he was optimistic about his victory in Sunday’s elections.
