The award for the best defender of the year in the Euroleague was won earlier on Saturday (13/5) by Eddie Tavares.
In the second place of the voting finished o Thomas Walkupwho had an excellent year with Olympiakos and was often a “key” player with his versatile defensive presence.
THE Kostas Sloukashowever, by posting on twitter, supported his teammate in the “red and whites” stressing that he respects the Euroleague and Tavares but disagrees with the decision.
“With all due respect to the Euroleague and a great player like Tavares, who has dominated European basketball for years, in my humble opinion, Tomas Walkup deserved the best defenseman award this season. Despite not having the size of Tavares, he troubled every opponent, contributed a lot and helped our team to 1st place”specifically wrote the international guard of Piraeus.
