Vamvakoulas: “It would be better if Olympiacos didn’t win the championship, it would cover the problems”

by

Nikos Vamvakoulas expressed the opinion that Olympiacos shouldn’t have and it was better that it happened and didn’t get the title of champion in his statements to Metrosport.

The veteran ace said that if this had not happened, the red and whites would have managed to cover their problems as a team while he emphasized that he needs 6-7 players for the new season.

In detail what he said:

For PAOK-Olympiakos:

“Both teams were very nervous, Olympiacos played with counter-attacks, PAOK kept the ball and went all the way to the big area. Both teams need a lot of reinforcement, they can’t play like this in Europe. Olympiacos wants at least 6-7 players. What bothered me about both teams is that they don’t have a winger or a full-back. It’s the A’s and Z’s to be able to break down defenses.”

For Konstantinos:

“Konstantelias is a good player, he has to look and pull himself together so he doesn’t lose his mind. He will find his way. he is a talent, he needs to work harder. Whether he works in Greece or in Europe, he will need more work.”

For the Cup final:

“The final is another game, it matters how you will be that day. It doesn’t matter that AEK won the championship, even though they are a very good team. Panathinaikos was good until the middle of the year, in the last it broke. Olympiacos was not good and neither was PAOK in the title battle. I’m happy that Olympiacos didn’t win the championship when they didn’t play good football and would hide the problems under the rug. Now this will not happen and Olympiacos will get a new coach and needs 6-7 players”.
