Olympiacos and Vouliagmeni re-cross their swords at finals of A1 women’s polo, with the “red and white” being the absolute favorite to win the 10th consecutive title. The series begins (16/5, 17:30) in Piraeus and the team that completes three victories will be crowned champion.
Undefeated domestically for the past four years, Olympiacos aspires to celebrate its 14th title overall and confirm its dominance in women’s polo. “The most important moment of the Greek championship has arrived. Vouliagmeni is a team that had a good run this year. We are ready and determined to fight and keep our title and in this beautiful way, close a special year for us“, stressed Fotini Tricha about his whole Aleksandar Ciric.
On the contrary, after last year’s elimination by Glyfada in the semi-finals, NOB returns to the finals and will claim everything it can. Her team Kikis Liosi managed to oppose the “red and white” in two of their four matches this year: in the first round of the regular season, in Laimos, where they were defeated 12-11, and in the second qualifying round of the Champions League, in Rome, where they lost with 12-10. The other two matches of the two teams this year ended with easy victories for Olympiakos, 13-7 in Piraeus for the championship and 11-6 in the cup final, held in Patras.
A little earlier tomorrow (16/5, 15:30), at the same swimming pool, the first match between Ethnikos and Glyfada will be held, for positions 3-4 of the final ranking. This series is judged on the two wins, with the Piraeus team having the home advantage.
