Ramsdale: “Really proud, but we have to look in the mirror”

Arsenal was a pioneer in this year’s Premier League for more than 250 days, until it… deflated in the final stretch and allowed Manchester City to secure the championship yesterday (20/5), thanks also to the defeat of the “gunners” with 1-0 away to Nottingham Forest.

With Aaron Ramsdale pointing out that Arsenal can still be proud of the pressure they put on the Citizens and the fact they secured a return to the Champions League after 2017.

While pointing out that the London club admit the mistakes made in the season which helped Manchester City to the Premier League title.

“The Champions League was initially the first goal at the start of the season. We did it for the first time in six or seven years. We pushed a Manchester City team all the way, who have won the title five times in six years,” the England goalkeeper initially said.

He added: “The disappointment will not come from not winning the league, but from how it ended up happening. We’ll be really proud of ourselves, but we have to look in the mirror and we have to be the first to admit the mistakes we’ve made, because that’s how we learn and get better.”
