Hadjisafi: “All the players love Almeida, let’s reach the double after 45 years”

The 33-year-old left back of “Enos” spoke about her great relationship which the players maintain with the coach, Matias Almeida, while, as regards him cup final he stated that the goal of the “yellow and black” is to win the title in order to do the double after 45 years!

Ehsan Hajisafi said in detail:



For AEK winning the championship: “I am very happy that after four years in Europe I celebrated my first championship. We had a lot of competition from our opponents, especially Panathinaikos. Of course Olympiacos was one of the main contenders, but in the last few weeks our difference has increased. Our main opponent was Panathinaikos and we had an inconclusive battle, which was decided in the last two games”.

On his own presence in the team: “There’s no secret, I just go into every game trying to do my best for the team. Fortunately I performed very well in most games and was able to get better.”

For his use as a left back and then a stopper: “We started the season with a 3-5-2 and I was playing as a left stopper. In the friendlies we had good performances and victories, but after some defeats in the league the coach changed the system and we returned to the four in defense. The coach asked me to play in this position.”

For the collaboration with Matias Almeidas: “He is a very good coach and he came to AEK this year. He is really good in terms of ethics, management and quality. Flawless in everything. You rarely see a coach who is also a friend of the player. He can joke with his players, but at the right time he is serious. All the players in the team, those who play and those who don’t play so much, love him. No one is unhappy with him. It’s a pleasure to work with him.”

For the Greek Cup final: “We are playing one of the good Greek teams, PAOK. I hope after 45 years we do the double, this final is very important for us. We will go down to the final to claim the trophy with all our strength and I hope we can bring the Cup to our amazing fans.”

On his daughter’s presence at his contract renewal: “I always went to contract signings alone. This time I preferred to have my daughter with me and have her sign for me. My family comes to the field at every home game and after the end of every game my daughter comes down to the field, we play football for a few minutes and have fun together.”
