Sloukas: “I have left behind the defeat by Real – our main goal is the championship”

Statements after the comfortable victory of Olympiakos over PAOK and the qualification to the finals of the Basket League were made by Kostas Sloukasstressing that he has left behind the painful defeat by Real Madrid, characterizing the crowd’s presence at the SEF as touching and adding that winning the championship is the main goal for him and his teammates.

In detail what he said:



“The defeat that came from Real was difficult, because we controlled the game and came very close to the title. It was difficult, but our job is to move forward. Personally, I’ve put the defeat against Real behind me. The main goal is to win the championship and we are moving forward. As for the attendance of the people, it is touching and the effort we have made throughout the year is recognized”.

For PAOK and the upcoming finals of the Basket League: “The championship is the main goal. We look to win every game. Today we showed a good face again, although in the 2nd quarter our defense was not good. We are waiting for the opponent in the final. PAOK was a hardworking team and coach Takianos has given his credentials since last year. He was competitive in all three games, although the difference slipped away. I wish you good luck in the small finals”.

On whether he expects a zone defense from his opponent in the finals, as Real did: “I don’t care about the zone or man to man. And PAOK played a zone today at the beginning, but was penalized and changed to man to man. It is up to us to adapt and respond to every different defense of the opponent”.
