I did everything to straighten our stature, Kemal Kilindaroglu said in his statements a while ago on the sidelines of his electoral defeat, in the Turkish polls, against Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The state was handed over to ErdoÄŸan, he stressed, pointing out the need to deal with the country’s problems now.

“I’m continuing this course, I’m here to continue the fight,” he added, denying the scenarios of his possible resignation.

His first statements after his victory in the second round of the elections were made by Recep Tayyip Erdogan from Scutari, Istanbul, speaking on a bus.

ErdoÄŸan, who comfortably prevailed with 52.0% against his opponent, Kemal KilicdaroÄŸlu with 47.93%, thanked the Turkish people for the vote of confidence they showed him saying that “until death we will be together” while at the same time attacking his political opponents and Kemal Kilicdaroglu, characteristically saying “Bye bye”.

“Today is a big day. And Skoutari is something else. And Istanbul. My dear friends, with respect and in the second round elections with the preference of our people we have completed it. And in between two religious holidays, we were made to celebrate a democracy holiday as well. Thank you very much. For your and your children’s future. I thank all citizens” said Tayyip ErdoÄŸan and continued:

“Thank you very much to the volunteers. Everyone. I also congratulate our women, and the young people. And all our brothers who gave their hearts to the party, especially for the second round with a large percentage. Thank you to everyone who participated in the elections. With the preference they made for the next five years, they once again gave me the responsibility of managing the country,” he pointed out.
“First God we will be worthy of your trust, as we have been for 21 years. This love does not end here,” he said.
“We belong to Turkey and Turkey to us.”

At the same time, he attacked Kemal Kilicdaroglu saying ironically “Bye bye”.

“From the ballot box came a force that does not rust, does not bend” underlined the Turkish president and emphasized that “the next goal is to take Istanbul in the elections in 2024”.
