by

His retirement from active activity was announced by Tasos Papazoglou, by Panseraic to be promoted to the first division of Greek football.

The Greek defender, who will turn 35 in a few months, wanted to thank his teammates, their teams and their fans, as well as his family with a message on his personal account on social media.

In detail what he wrote:

“My dear friends and colleagues, I want to express my sincere appreciation to all of you for the incredible journey we have shared together during my football career.

For me, football has been a lifelong passion and it has been an honor and a privilege to represent so many teams with all of you over the years.

To my teammates, coaches, presidents and staffs of Panserraikos, Olympiakos, Xanthi, Panaitolikos, Apollon Smyrni, OFI and Zire, I express my sincere thanks for your support and guidance.

Through all the games, practices and moments of adversity, your faith and encouragement kept me going and I am forever grateful for all your contributions in shaping the footballer and man I have become. I feel blessed and lucky to have enjoyed so many unforgettable experiences. Every clap from the fans reminded me of all the memories I’ve had since I was a kid and started playing soccer.

Thank you to all the football fans for supporting me throughout my career and helping me become the best player I could be.

Finally, I want to express a special thank you to the unseen heroes: my family, my wife, my personal trainer Giannis Pliatsikas and Dimitris Kambrianis for their love and support, who have been by my side through the highs and lows, keeping me landed on my target.

This night will forever be in my heart as it was truly an honor to finish in the team from which I started, winning for the third time the championship and the promotion to the category that Panserraikos deserves. So I look forward to the next stage of my life… my love for football does not stop here!”
