The first Euroleague Players’ Association awards

THE ELPA started handing out its awards, which highlight different sides of the game. Specifically, Mr Luke Sikma won the ‘Fair Play’ award, which goes to the greatest exponent of ‘fair play’. The American had won the exact same distinction last season.

Another American, Mr Darius Thompson, emerged as the top debutant of the event. The Baskonia guard had a magical season and is one of the most sought-after names in the European market, winning this particular award with absolute fairness.

Finally, the great Kyle Hines named most respected player, award given “to a player who earns the utmost respect among his peers and embodies a true role model, on and off the field”. The former Olympiakos center won this award for the third time in a row.
