Grigonis: “We stopped Olympiakos’ game – Let’s make them feel our pressure”

The MVP of the “greens” in the match, Marius Grigonis, he spoke to the ERT camera and the show “Jambol” about the well-read performance of his team, but also about the mistakes that deprived them of the good result. For the first final: “We lost to a good team, they played better in the last two minutes. It’s our fault, but we keep a lot of positives. The next match is at home and we can play better. We have to adapt because they will adapt to our game. This is certain. We have to do better. Even at the beginning they made the difficult shots and then we came back. It’s ok, we want to be there for them and make them feel the pressure. That’s how we’ll get our chance. Yesterday we had many chances but we missed them. We still have at least two games and we will have our chances.”

As for whether a big mistake was made: “Big mistake; In the last two minutes we committed two reckless fouls. Lee and I missed shots, but that’s not the problem. Up to that point we made regular mistakes, small details. We have to solve these so that we don’t put ourselves in this position.”

On whether Panathinaikos found a way to stop the Olympiacos game: “I think yes we stopped their game, the back doors the movement they have with the ball. We did that, yes, but they are still a very good team. They found a way, we definitely stopped their movement, their cuts and the way they distribute the ball.”

On how he felt in the first final: “It’s a battle. We have played with Olympiakos before. Both in regular time and here in the finals it’s the same energy. It’s a battle. Certainly for the Greeks it is different because of the long history of the two teams. We have to win, it’s the finals. The atmosphere in the locker room now is tense. We have to do everything. I hope our friends will help us once more. It’s easier when they support you even if you’re not playing well. We’ve let our fans down many times this year, so it’s a difficult position for me to call on them to step up.”
