Ready to start taking flesh and bones is the dream of millions of Panathinaikos fans.
On Tuesday morning at a press conference held at the Athens City Hall, in the presence of the Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis, of the president and vice-president of the Amateur Panathinaikos Mr. Malakate and Vranopoulos, the representative of AEP Eleonas, Yannis Ganou and the architect of the Decathlon company that undertook the project, Christos Koutris, where the final plans of the project were presented, which is expected to be ready together with the football Arena in Botaniko in 2026 as part of the double regeneration.
The Architect of the project, Christos Koutris, provided details about the project:
“I will try to emphasize certain features. There are too many individual facilities in a single complex. We don’t have anything similar in Greece, only in Europe. It is a particularly important urban intervention that is not common in our country. The area will have a view towards the Acropolis. We have an area downgraded where we place receptacles for the project. It is a single complex with 6 independent uses. It is the large arena of 3,000 seats, it is the closed training hall with 200 seats and there are 7 training rooms for various sports. There are the swimming pools, the refreshment room and the parking lot, an area exclusively for disabled athletes, training areas and areas where the management of the Amateur is housed. In the facilities there will be a distinction regarding the entrance of the public. The project has received the approval of G.G. Sports and this is particularly important for its creation. I want to believe that the project will proceed smoothly through the licensing process”.
It should be noted that the building complex is made with compact construction. The foundations will be made of concrete. The roofs will be metal, while the surfaces are approximately 12,000 sq.m.
