The last one to… close the door!
One of the last “loyalists” of the European Super League plan, Juventus, has officially announced her intention to leave it. It was already widely rumored that the Old Lady had this tendency, which was confirmed by a club announcement.
Now, in the ESL plan that shocked the football world in the spring of 2021 but was immediately abandoned, only the Barcelona and Real Madridgroups that pioneered the “birth” of the whole project.
“Regarding rumors that appeared in today’s press, Juventus informs that it has forwarded a communication to the two remaining clubs which, like Juventus, have not exercised their withdrawal from the Super League Scheme (Barcelona and Real) in order to start a period discussion between the three clubs regarding the possible exit of Juventus from the Super League Project.
The company will proceed with any – required by law – communication after the outcome of the conversations and assessments regarding the above, clarifying that many of the reconstructed versions published by the media about the content of the communication (including any reference to alleged threats of possible sanctions from UEFA) is not true.
For more information on the Super League Project, please refer to the press releases issued by the Company on April 19 and April 21, 2021″says the relevant announcement of Juventus.
