Fly Olympia: World champions at the meeting of Emmanuel Karalis in Ancient Olympia

The street pole vault event organized by Emmanuel Karalis will once again host his top pole vaulters this year, who will aim for the big jumps.

The Polish world champion, as well as European champion and with three participations in the Olympic Games, Pawel Wojciechowski, will attend the meeting for the second time in a row. The athlete has an individual record of 5.93.

At the same time, the U20 world champion, Anthony Ammirati, will attend the event for the first time. The young champion, who has a record of 5.81, won last year’s World Championship in the category in Cali.

European U23 champion Ethan Cormon will also compete at the Fly Olympia. The young Frenchman, who won the U23 European Championship in Tallinn in 2021, has an individual record of 5.82.

At the same time, the Kole brothers will participate in the meeting again. Thibaut (5.82) and Mathieu (5.74) Collet, who also competed last year at the Fly Olympia, will participate in the race for the second year in a row. In fact, last year, Thibaut Collet was second.

On the Greek side, Emmanuel Karalis will be flanked by Yiannis Rizos. The Greek jumper, who has an individual record of 5.60, will participate for the second year in the event and will aim for the big jumps.

The meeting is co-organized by the Municipality of Ancient Olympia, the “Athletic Gymnastics Association of Pyrgos” and the Region of Western Greece, while it is held under the auspices of EOT and SEGAS.

The match is scheduled for 19:00 and will be broadcast live by ERT.
