The Turkish federation punished the referees of the third semi-final Efes-Fener!

by

Overturning a 9-point deficit in the last six minutes, the Effects prevailed with her 97-91 Fenerbahce on Wednesday (7/6), making it 2-1 in the semi-final series of the Turkish league!

However, the match also had a full “third half”, since after the match there was a strong dissatisfaction of the losers with the refereeing, which was expressed both through Dimitris Itoudis and through an announcement from Fenerbahçe!

The Turkish Basketball Federation, with its announcement, partially vindicated the visitors, as it admitted that mistakes were made in the last quarter of the semi-final that affected the result. For this reason, he announced that the three referees of the match will remain out of office until the end of the season.

The announcement in detail:

“Although we have been extremely satisfied with the overall performance of our referees since the start of the season, the whistles that were blown in the fourth quarter of the match between Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce at Sinan Erdem in the third leg of the Turkish Super play off semi-finals League, they affected the end of the match. While I’m sure there was no malicious intent as the Basketball Federation’s Vice President in charge of the Central Referee Board, it upset me personally.

The Central Council of Referees that dealt with the matter in all its technical details decided to leave out of the definitions the three referees of the match held yesterday with a similar assessment until the end of the season.

I am very satisfied with the quality of basketball, both technical and spectacular, in the semi-finals of the Super League play-offs between Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce, our two distinguished clubs who represent our country abroad with their achievements. we are proud and add great strength and color to our basketball with their competition in our league.

I fully believe that a playoff series will continue where the game on the field and not the refs will be the talk of the town.

Kemal Dincer, Vice President of the Turkish Basketball Federation”.
