THE Live Roberto he had a great career with teams like Real, Bayern, Santos, Palmeiras and Brazil national team. He retired six years ago, at the age of 43 (!), but still remains in amazing physical condition. The once great Brazilian midfielder has now taken on the role of mentor to young kids teaching the importance of dedication to what they do.

In an interview with the magazine of the German federation, Mr 48 year old ace explained how he acquired this mindset. “When I was a child I was very short and thin because I didn’t have access to good nutrition. I quickly realized how important healthy eating is for peak athletic performance. My job is to teach young people to maintain the same discipline and focus on their purpose. I was a pro at 23 and never stopped training“, he emphasized.

Ze Roberto was nicknamed “fillet” during his years in Germany by his teammates, since he had no trace of… fat. Even today, he trains at the pace of… teenagers and watches his diet. At 19:00 he eats his last meal and by 23:00 at the latest he is in bed, since his day starts at 7:00 every morning.
