Elite League: Final with play in and changes to the Final 4 the new season

THE EEC published the special announcement for its new league Elite League Henry Dunan and there are several innovations and changes.

First, the league will be played again with 16 teams, of which 15 have the right to participate, but it is going to be 14 as Ionian head to ESKANA. Therefore there will be one or two gaps, unless Maroussi and Triton are unable to compete in the Basket League, in which case they will again play in the second division.

The two foreigners are preserved with a time limit on their participation, but also the double ticket rule, but there are format changes. Upon completion of the regular season they are established play in to NBA standards, with the participation of the teams that finished in positions 7-10. The seventh team faces the eighth and the winner enters the playoffs as seventh, while the loser plays the winner between ninth and tenth and whichever team wins enters the playoffs as eighth. The matches are held at the headquarters of the teams that have been ranked in the highest positions of the regular season.

The playoffswhich follow, the format will be the same, with pairs 1-8, 2-7, 3-6 and 4-5, however there is a change. The victories of the regular season are carried over, but in case it is 1-1 the qualification is judged on the three wins, while if it is 2-0 or 0-2, it is judged on the four.

The same applies to the play out in which the 11-14 and 12-13 will play. The losing teams are relegated with the 15th and 16th placed teams being relegated directly.

The rise is judged on Final 4 which will however be held differently. The former faces the latter and the winner secures the championship and promotion. The loser will play the winner of the third with the fourth, with promotion as a prize.
