“Fire” Goutsidis against Tavlaridis and Venetis: “I felt like I was raped”

by

“Bombs” from the coach of AEL, Panagiotis Gioutsidis!

The Greek coach of the “crimson” during the press conference after the victory 5-0 on Diagoras Rhodes at Alcazar for the 30th matchday of Super League 2, unleashed “fire” against him Stathis Tavlaridis and Tassos Venetisclaiming that they bear the main responsibility for the failure to achieve the promotion target.

In addition, Panagiotis Gioutsidis spoke of a “war” while emphasizing that he felt as if he and his players were being “rushed” before the match with Panserraikos.

His statements in detail:

“After the home match against Panserraikos I spoke about people who only looked at their own interests and not the team. From the beginning the goal of the technical directors was clearly for me to leave, without considering whether they were good for the team or not. And this from the beginning of the preparation… At least let the world know the truth, as I have experienced it… The climax was in Serres…

I was in a good mood to help Tasos (s.s. Venetis) and Stathis (s.s. Tavlaridis), so that we could become a good team and make promotion a reality. I was clear, I said what I believed without fear and passion and it seems they didn’t like that. So a war started from the beginning of the league, with behaviors I was against. Especially since we lost the 2nd matchday to PAOK B 1-0, a big fight started for me to leave the team. This is the truth. Everything was done to make it happen!

I do not hide from you that I knew this, because I have friends in Thessaloniki who told me that they did not believe that the technical directors were looking for another coach. I found out after the match in Philippoupoli with Apollo Larisas. If you remember, after PAOK we went on a winning streak and every match we played better. Suddenly, before the home match with Heracles, comes this infamous email, which you have heard. And it happened, come and see…

Where we were happy with the team and saw it as having a future, there were ups and downs. you asked me then why I talked about a crash and I said I don’t know, I’m looking for it, but I knew. I was sure that we would not play well, but I did not imagine that we would be so bad that we would actually be threatened with a crash. Then Goutsidis had left the team… On Sunday we played against Heraklis, on Tuesday the name of the new coach appeared on the websites. I took Taso, I told him that I have no problem leaving for the good of the team, but they were hiding from me and denying it!

So let’s go play in Serres. I really felt like I was raped in the hotel before the match with Panserraikos. Not only me, but also the players… They are children the age of my children… Imagine someone seeing their children being raped and not being able to do anything… It was terrifying what I have experienced with the players and especially those who were wrongly accused…

They talked about evidence, evidence, evidence these people and after the match we had a meeting so I could see the evidence and understand if I did the right thing or the wrong thing. There now I felt so little like a person, because before the fight I didn’t do what I really believed. Not to believe any of them!

These gentlemen while before the game were getting ready to convince me that some guys … you know, you know what they did when it came time for the evidence? Instead of evidence they started to take back what they said and take the side of the players… One thing is terrible… Instead of evidence they expressed doubts… “No, it might not have been like that” and “they are good guys”… Think of a person in that position. Indeed my departure that night was redemption… But it was not only that…

It was that after that match the team not only lost, but had many internal issues and Poulikidis became the cloak that hid them… The team played PAO B’ without a stopper, in a match they could have won from there and then it actually began to lose elements to reach an irreversible state. This is the truth!

Let the world also know what the team experienced on that 15th day, before the match with Heracles… I am ashamed that I did not show more manliness and put my chest up to protect the children… These children who were accused then and later in the match with Panathinaikos B they were captains… What can I say more… Who pays for it? The coach is today and tomorrow he is not… Technical Directors the same… She is paid by the people, who love this team very much and the team itself… And of course those who put their hands deep in their pockets to meet the needs of a team… Well , it is good to claim what belongs to us, but first to do self-criticism, take responsibility and tell the truth…

You will now judge whether this situation affected and how much, so that the team can at least claim the championship until the end. It is up to you to judge, but this is the truth and I am available at any time, to come face to face with whoever is involved and anyone else, to prove me wrong!

Saying them afterwards and creating an even bigger problem when the team was still inside the goal just wasn’t right. But I should have said them before, when they happened and that was my big mistake. I should have said it then and not after, when I left the team…”.
